Idiolect has been my favourite word ever since I discovered it while doing my master’s in Linguistics. In simple terms, it’s a dialect of an individual. Each one of us speaks in a unique way because we’ve all had different experiences. Even twins develop their own ways of expressing themselves! We all have our own linguistic fingerprint — isn’t that magical?
