Learn Spanish slang through a children’s classic: Manolito Gafotas Book Club
Hello Spanish language bookworms! I’m bringing you a Spanish Book Club for intermediate learners, where we’ll be reading Manolito Gafotas, a legendary and hilarious book that generations of Spanish readers grew up with and that’s still very much relevant today.
The series begins with Manolito at age 8, and you literally grow up with him as the books go on. The story may be about children, but the comedy isn’t. The book is sharp, easy to read, and absolutely legendary.
You’ll read the chapters at home, and we’ll use our meetups to discuss them together, making this both a reading club and a conversation class. Expect laughs, cultural insights, and plenty to talk about.
If you want to improve your Spanish while discovering a true icon of Spanish culture, this club is for you.
